DVR Alert! Rhode Island food “Delicious Destinations” on Travel Channel

We just watched a terrific episode of the Travel Channel’s Bizarre Foods: Delicious Destinations, Providence!

Screen Shot 2016-04-15 at 6.33.24 PM

It was a nice primer of lots of great places to eat all around the Rhode Island coast, not just Providence, as the name would suggest. In fact, many of the places they visited are also featured on our “Where to EAT” page. As luck would have it, they are re-airing it on Tuesday, April 19th, at 9:00 am (hence the DVR alert). If you just can’t wait (or you missed it), and you don’t mind some sub-par video and audio you can stream the whole episode from The Newport Buzz website. If you have the chance to get it on your DVR, then we strongly encourage that viewing experience, if possible. We were just in Rhode Island last weekend for some meetings and already we are itching to get back to hit up some more of the places that were on this show.

Bring your appetite!

Hotel Blocks!

yellowhotel

Greetings Friends & Family,

The days ’til the wedding are rapidly ticking away, and so are our hotel rooms!!

We are officially sold out for Sunday on our original  block at the Hampton Inn. We did manage to secure another 12 rooms through a NEW block. Due to demand at the hotel, and in the area in general, the rooms are now priced $20 higher per night.

Since this hotel is rapidly filling up, we have set up another block down the road at the Holiday Inn. They will only hold 10 rooms at a time, so the faster you book, the more likely we will be able to add more rooms, although there is no guarantee.

We will also be offering transportation from the Holiday Inn to the ceremony and reception.

If you do plan on coming up to celebrate with us (and we hope you do) please book your rooms ASAP!!

Visit the hotels portion of our website for rates and links to the hotel booking pages.

Love,
Corinne & Jer

SNOW DAYS!

Greetings from a VERY snowy Glen Cove!

Snow Day!

We’re buried under almost 2′ here, and naturally that has us dreaming of our summer wedding, and not surprisingly it’s coming quickly!!

It’s just about 5 months until the big day, and Wednesday is our 1-year engagement anniversary! Crazy how time FLIES!!!

There have been some changes in plans, as expected. The biggest change is we’re no longer holding our ceremony at Point Judith Lighthouse. Dealing with the Coast Guard has proven challenging to say the least. While we were granted permission to have the ceremony there, we decided it would be best to go to a place where we had more control, and didn’t have to worry about our ceremony being preempted by a Homeland Security issue.

Our new ceremony venue is South Ferry Church! It’s a very cute, non-denominational church dating back to 1850. While it’s not ON the water, you can see the water down the road. As an added benefit, the ceremony will be inside, thus no need to worry about weather variables.

South Ferry Church

Regarding our hotel block, several folks have booked rooms, which is great! There’s actually only 6 rooms left in our original block. We can’t hold any additional rooms until our first block is filled, so the sooner you make reservations the better! We found out there’s a bunch of college events going on around town that weekend, and hotels are filling up FAST! If you haven’t booked a room yet, please do so ASAP. There’s no charge to reserve, and you can cancel up until 24 hours before your reserved date.

If you have reserved a room, there was a slight bit of confusion with the rates through the website, but they have been resolved, and you should be receiving an updated confirmation email from the hotel. To avoid confusing the web reservation system, the hotel is suggesting you book the room for just one person (although the rooms can hold up to 4 people.)

Looking forward to celebrating with you all SOON!

Welcome to our Wedding Website!

Sunday, June 26, 2016 is the Big Day!

We are getting married in Narragansett, Rhode Island, one of our favorite places to visit! The ceremony will take place at South Ferry Church, and the reception will be held at The Towers, a historic building located on the water in downtown Narragansett. You can view historical pictures and read about The Towers here.
